Many years ago, when I first got into the laser tag business as an operator, I purchased several laser tag systems from a manufacturer.  I then proceeded to set them up in various sites around North America.

What a disaster!

The equipment was absolutely terrible!  Most of it was not durable and virtually disintegrated after heavy use.  It was difficult to repair, and the "down-time" was costing us big money in lost revenue.  After a few busy months, the equipment was not usable anymore and could no longer be repaired - game over.

In retrospect this was a blessing in disguise.  It made me aware of several facts.  Firstly, I realized there was a lot of money to be made in the laser tag business.  Even though the equipment I purchased was junk at best, people still liked the game very much.
